About St. Lucia

The second largest of the Caribbean's Windward Islands, St. Lucia draws visitors all year round to enjoy its rich natural beauty. It is located between the French island of Martinique to the north and St. Vincent to the south. Known as the “Helen of the West Indies” the island's sandy beaches, range in colors from white to gold to black and touch the dense emerald forests. Tropical jungle flowers are found on the banks of meandering streams. Historical, cultural and heritage sites can be found throughout the island. There are three exquisite tropical botanical gardens; each brimming with rare and exotic flora. St. Lucia offers not only dramatic countryside and pristine beaches, but also fantastic resorts, a variety of small boutique hotels, exquisite private villas and international cuisine.

The scuba diving and snorkeling is top notch due in part to the activities and vigilance of the award winning Soufriere Marine Management Area that works diligently to conserve St Lucia's coastal environment and ensures that underwater St Lucia retains its immense wealth and beauty.

Exploring the beauty of Saint Lucia's lush rainforest and nature trails is a great way to relax and appreciate the island. A variety of trails lead hikers through the spectacular rainforest, into cascading waterfall, to the top of Saint Lucia's mountains, through old plantation grounds, along beaches, and more. As you hike you can look and listen for local birds like the Saint Lucia Parrot, the Saint Lucia Oriole and the Saint Lucia Black Finch.
