Bali is a tropical paradise island, which is renowned for its ceremonial traditions, art, architecture, natural beauty and ecological diversity. Serene beaches, unique and rich marine environment that is ideal for diving, snorkeling and dolphin watching, rice fields, vineyards and fragrant tropical plantations, volcanoes and waterfalls, natural hot springs, sacred temples, and friendly people with genuine hospitality make Bali an ideal retreat destination.
Four guided tours of Bali are included as part of the Bali Yoga Teacher Training experience.
The Kintomani Volcano: A scenic drive over small roads overlooking beautiful rice terraces will bring us to the mountain village of Kintamani (about 5,000 feet above sea-level), which offers spectacular views of Lake Batur and the volcano. We will cross the crater lake below the still active Mount Batur and visit the temple of Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah(the elephant temple), a hermitage from the 11th century used by both Buddhists and Hindus.
Banjur Natural Hotsprings: The Vihara Temple, Bali’s oldest Buddhist temple dating back to around the 6th century, is an hours walk from the resort. This nature walk through an eco-forest under the guidance of the resort’s expert on indigenous herbal and medicinal plants and vegetation is an excellent ecological introduction to the local environment. This excursion also includes a rejuvenating swim at the Banjar natural hot springs and meditation at the Vihara temple. One of the resort's vehicles, will meet us at the Temple and bring us back to the resort.
Gitgit Waterfall and Ulundanu Temple of Bedugal: On the way to Bedugul, we will visit Bali's highest waterfall, which is situated in an exotic wilderness area. Then we will visit the beautiful Ulundanu temple, in the middle of the peaceful lake Beratan. The lake fills the ancient crater of Mt. Beratan. The people of Bedugul honor Dewi'tanu, goddess of the water, in the Uludanu temple, because the lake is an essential water source for surrounding farmlands. This tour will continue with rice terrace trekking in Mayong and visiting botanical gardens.
The Mengwi Temple and Lovina Beach: On this tour we will drive through green terraced rice fields to the magnificent Royal Temple of Mengwi. This lovely temple, which is surrounded by a moat, consists of distinctive pagodas symbolising the sacred mountain Mahameru, residence of the Supreme God. In the afternoon, we will visit Lovina beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali, where tranquility and dolphin watching are popular attraction.
