Ashtanga Yoga Demonstration in Greece | Vashistasana by Caroline Klebl

This photograph was taken during a 3rd series ashtanga yoga demonstration on the rooftop of Aegialis Spa resort at the end of a yoga teacher training retreat on Amorgos, Greece. This posture is dedicated to sage Vashista. Vashista is one of the seven great rishis(seers) and a manasputra(mind born son) of God Brahman. Vashista is one of the Prajapatis “lord of people”, which are a group of Vedic deities presiding over procreation and protection of life. He was the author of the 7th Mandala of the Rig Veda.
